Fluid boiler with circulating fluidized bed is equipment, which incinerates powdery solid fuels and minimizes the production of harmful gases. Currently is promoted the trend of replacing or reducing the share of conventional fossil fuels by the addition of biomass. The use of the additional fuel from renewable sources is technologically quite easy and at the same time improves the economics of the process. From the literature, it is known, that the ash from biomass contains a higher content of alkalis (Na and K) and chlorine. The corrosion process also involves the increased moisture in the exhaust gas. The moisture content in the dried biomass is ranging between 10 - 30%.
The subject of the paper was to assess the wear of the monolithic refractory linings of fluidized bed boiler combusting black coal by the influence of the addition of dendromass (wood chips).Linings of two fluidized bed boilers FK-1 (20% DM) and FK-2 (5% DM) with the different addition of dendromass (DM) were studied. Combustion chamber linings of both FK were made up of the MCC refractory concrete, from which samples of worn masonry were collected. To evaluate the corrosion interaction was used chemical analysis, macro and micro analysis, melting point of stick and ash. The obtained results have not confirmed the initial assumptions about the increasing content of the alkalis in the ash and thus neither increased corrosion refractory linings fluidized bed boiler due to increased content of woody biomass in the fuel.
Gunning of common dense and insulating gunning castables is quite common, and technologically without problems. Different situation is in the case of so-called liquefied and chemically bonded gunning castables.
The process of mixing the dry castble mixture with water in the case of liquefied castable is the matter of minutes, until the mixture is homogenous and capable of installation (casting, vibration). This "lengthy" liquefaction limits installation of this castables by dry (semi-dry) gunning. This contribution describes some ways to gunning of this kind of castables. In recent years has been carried out a number of tests with gunning of liquefied castables. In this article are also presented Results and comparison of physical-mechanical properties of gunning and casting castables.
In the case of gunning of chemically bonded castables are coming complications with dosing of chemical bond, often very aggressive.
In conclusion are described possibilities of making linings by this method and described operational applications.

Silica bricks are commonly used in construction of coke oven batteries, in the crowns of glass furnaces and in hot blast stoves in metallurgy. To achieve higher durability new kinds of dense silica refractory materials have been developed, which are characterized by lower apparent porosity and higher compressive strength at lower contents of CaO and Fe2O3. The new silica products were tested not only on the basic hot properties but also were made even additional tests that are compared with current qualities of silica bricks produced by PD Refractories CZ a.s. Higher density silica refractory materials positively effect not only corrosion resistance, abrasion but also higher thermal conductivity which contributes for example to more efficient coke-making processes.
The paper aimed to address the production technology influence on development of specific costs of refractory materials in the steel melt shop in Vítkovice Steel, a.s. Under rather complex conditions of unstable market conditions, the specific costs of the refractory material for the BOFs and the ladles were gradually lowered. The paper contains plots documenting this positive development. The paper also contains technological procedures as a part of the steel melt shop production technology, which allowed accomplishing of these positive achievements.

This article summarizes the experiences with using alternative materials (especially energy by-products) for the production of the refractory materials in P-D Refractories CZ a.s.. These materials are generated during combustion of coal and in the process of desulphurization in power plants.
There are also described other possibilities for their further potential application in many types of the refractory materials. The usage of suitable materials means raw materials cost reduction and also saving natural materials resources.
The utilization of the energy by-products is advantageous for economical and ecological reasons.
The paper is dedicated to the liner bottom BOF VÍTKOVICE STEEL (hereinafter referred to as VS), which is an exposed portion of the lining. Specifically, it focuses on selection of ramming material and determine the moisture in its application. Furthermore, addressing the appropriate combination for itself shaped construction materials with the ramming material. Both tasks were dealt with in relation to the reliable operation of the converter to raid the so-called. large masonry repair.
